About this role
What will you be responsible for?
Primary responsibilities are sampling of drill core: either cutting or
consuming intervals as directed by geologists. Functions include, but not
limited to, retrieving drill samples for assays, re-assay, scanning
samples into inventory and operation of core saws, forklifts among other
equipm

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
Demonstrate safety leadership and safety consciousness. Maintain a safe work
environment by sustaining good housekeeping practices and watching out for
work area safety and actively participating in safety meetings.
Task train co-workers in the safe and efficient use of equipment.
Ability to manage the sample inventory and related warehouse materials,
without damage to the people, property or process.
Makes accurate records of new materials placed into storage. Maintain the
storage locations.
Completes periodic daily workplace inspections and corrects problems with
individuals capabilities.
Complete routine maintenance on the rock saws to reduce or eliminate major
breakdowns.
Accurately process drill samples. Cut drill core and log accurately. Samples
are places into bags, label sample bags are prepared and placed in sample
bins for shipping.
Follow established sampling procedures. Ability to identify naming and
numbering errors in sample handling procedures.
Ensures timely shipments to laboratories and accurately completes required
dispatch forms. Schedule load and unload sample shipments.
Ability to read and understand material retrieval request, collect these
materials and ship accordingly.
Build and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
Support contractor management and tracking through data entry of daily
operation reports.

Here is what we need to see from you!
Experience:
Knowledge of safety and environmental policies and practices, and
willingness to develop related skills sets.
Demonstrate knowledge of radio communication procedures and vehicle operation
signals.
Core cutting experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Maintain a valid State drivers license for light vehicles among other
equipment. Ability to safely and effectively operate light vehicles, 4×4
vehicle and occasionally operate an all-terrain vehicle.
Have the ability to safely operate forklifts, backhoe or telehandler to
support drill operations and sample logistics.
Effective organizational and communicati n skills.
Have basic office computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point). Data
entry, spreadsheet and email.
Working Conditions & Location
Position based in United States at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine,
located in Teller County Colorado.
Availability to work some weekends.
Must be able to work at high altitude.
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift up
to 50 lbs. repeatedly during the workday.
Operate vehicles in mine operation environments.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $44,480- 52,820. The
salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado.
