Road Maintenance Worker
IRON COUNTY
IRON COUNTY IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME ROAD MAINTENANCE WORKER IN THE IRON COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT.
PERFORM A VARIETY OF SEMI-SKILLED AND SKILLED DUTIES TO BUILD, REPAIR, CLEAR AND MAINTAIN IRON COUNTY ROADWAYS AND OTHER RELATED DUTIES. OPERATE HEAVY EQUIPMENT TO INCLUDE: BACKHOE, DUMP TRUCK, FRONT END LOADER, ROLLERS, LOWBOY, TRUCKS, GRADER, DISTRIBUTER, DOZER, SNOWPLOW, MOWER, SPRAYER AND OTHER EQUIPMENT USED IN TRANSPORTING VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT TO JOB SITES. HOURS FOR THIS POSITION WILL VARY FROM 5/8 HOUR SHIFTS TO 4/10 HOUR SHIFTS SEASONALLY. APPLICANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK ON-CALL, EVENING, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED FOR EMERGENCIES AND SEASONAL SNOW REMOVAL.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT AND A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) YEAR OF VERIFIABLE EQUIPMENT OPERATION, CONSTRUCTION, OR CLOSELY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE. MUST HAVE CLASS A CDL. MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM HEAVY LIFTING UP TO AND OVER 50 LBS. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS WITH HEAVY EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM STARTING WAGE IS $20.93 PER HOUR AND COMPREHENSIVE BENEFIT PACKAGE.
