Overview
Afterschool Program Instructor – Garfield County, Utah State University Extension
The Garfield County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking qualified individuals to provide enriching afterschool clubs for students. Instructor positions are available at all three Garfield County sites: Bryce Valley, Escalante, and Panguitch.
We are looking for educators to teach a variety of subjects, including (but not limited to) Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, and Art. Instructors may teach four or more days per week, depending on program needs and instructor availability.
Available to teach Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Flexibility to teach multiple subjects is preferred
Compensation:
Pay is based on qualifications, ranging from $8 to $16 per hour.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging afterschool programming for students.
Maintain accurate attendance records for all club participants.
Attend all required training sessions.
Participate in 4-H Afterschool events, including service projects, club showcases, and Family Night Out events.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Must collaborate effectively with youth, families, and school staff
Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-Starter, good follow-through
Ability to work with little supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with youth
Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer
Skills related to STEM and other afterschool subject matter
