Staff Research Associate I – Semel Institute (Part Time)

Description
The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a Part time Staff Research Associate I. In this role you will provide supervised assistance with data collection in neuroimaging studies. This includes scanning of study participants using structural and functional MRI protocols and collecting EEG data. The position will also include implementation of processing pipelines, data entry and basic administrative tasks (filing, preparing materials for testing).
Pay Range: $26.52 – $31.63 hourly.
Qualifications
Required:
BA or BS degree, prior experience in neuroimaging (EEG or MRI) data collection and processing.
Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, or procedures to: define the problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors; identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; and recognize alternatives and their implications.
Skill in establishing priorities, which accurately reflect relative importance of job duties.
Skill in working as part of a team; collaborating with colleagues.
Skill in coordinating various actions by determining the time and sequence of events to be taken in accord with standard policies practice.
Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are: changes in workload; changes in assignments; pressures of deadlines; competing requirements; and heavy workload.
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to comprehend technical and procedure manuals records written in Standard English.
Ability to work and practice professional relationships with medical personnel, research subjects, patients and families.
Computer skills including word processing, email systems, file transfer, spreadsheets, data entry, data base maintenance, including the ability to enter data and maintain study records.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Matlab, Python, Presentation, EPrime, SPM, FSL, Unix, HTML, Javascript,
