Responsibilities
The Clinical Educator is a Registered Nurse responsible for planning designing coordinating conducting and evaluating educational programs within Nursing/Patient Care Services. Emphasis on orientation training development and accreditation requirements. Responsibility also includes providing consultation to the Professional/Support Services in meeting the educational needs of the staff. Functions as an expert practitioner within assigned areas of responsibility. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and education programs appropriate to the age of patients over the life span within assigned areas of responsibility. Assists Education Director with Nursing Orientation.
Assists Director with Nursing Orientation including: Development of curriculum Assembly of materials/equipment Reserving rooms/nutrition Teaching orientation topics and or coordinating speakers Creating nursing orientation agenda Assists Director with documentation of nursing orientation competencies

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide education programs appropriate to the age of patients over the life span
Conducts educational needs assessment and analysis for designated areas.
Assists Director in projecting and formulating a plan for meeting educational needs of staff and/or other targeted populations within assigned areas of responsibility.
Designs develops and organizes theory based educational interventions to address assessed needs or the learner/organization.
Implements/conducts and coordinates educational programs classes activities and projects including house-wide education
Monitors educational interventions and evaluates their impact on the learner(s) and/or the organization.
Maintains flexible schedule to meet organizations educational needs
Qualifications
ICU Background Trauma/Stroke Center
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field
California Registered Nurse License
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Teaching experience.
Knowledge of adult learning theories and group dynamics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to ongoing educational advancement and professional growth.
Computer literacy.
Preferred:
CCRN ENLS NIHSS/Stroke Certification
Masters degree
Five (5) years experience as a practitioner of nursing and proven competence in an acute care facility with a minimum of one year supervisory and/or teaching/staff development experience.
Experience in an accredited acute care hospital or healthcare facility to include educator experience.
Previous teaching and program development meeting The Joint Commission (TJC) standards for competency processes.
Pay Range
$48.96 – $74.06 /hour
