Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility Development Program (MDP) prepares professionals for a successful career in railway signaling and control systems engineering for passenger and freight railroads. Through extensive training and hands-on experiences, program participants will learn engineering methodologies and techniques and gain knowledge of Siemens’ products, technology, and culture!
We are looking for candidates for our Mobility Development Program beginning in June 2025. First rotations are based in Homestead, PA or Louisville, KY.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Two-year learning and development program consisting of 4 six-month rotations, which give participants exposure to a variety of roles throughout the rail transportation industry.
Gain exposure to product development, application development, R&D, and other functions such as project management, operations, and procurement. During the program, participants work side by side with Siemens Mobility managers and employees on current projects and business challenges.
Learn about the current Rail Infrastructure engineering projects and activities, including PTC implementation, wiring verification, field testing and field troubleshooting services and more.
Train on a broad range of engineering services and activities related to passenger and fright railroads.
Establish internal/external contacts while accessing and networking with Siemens’ senior decision makers and key leaders.
Example Rotation Path
July 2025 – July 2027 (2 years)
Rotation 1: (Pittsburgh, PA) – Wayside applications engineering/testing
Rotation 2: (Louisville, KY) – New product design and development support (R&D)
Rotation 3: (Pittsburgh, PA) – Onboard hardware or embedded software design
Rotation 4: (New York, NY) – Communications Based Train Control (CBTC)
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer major graduating with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution between May 2024 and May 2025.
Willingness to relocate and travel as required by the program.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

The pay rate for this position is $77,000 annually.
