GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an EIT 2 to work within our Civil and Environmental Business Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in todays global environment. This position is eligible for GAIs flexible Hybrid work schedules and a Sign-on Bonus.
Job Duties:
– Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks
– Undertakes technical and feasibility studies.
– Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with clients.
– Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
– Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
– Performs work under professional engineering staff.
– Handles basic issues and problems but will refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
– Possesses working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil engineering design tasks.
– Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
– This position requires local/regional travel and should be expected to be 20-40% (1-2 days per week as needed for project-related work/occasional overnight travel)

– Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.

Education
– B.S. or M.S. Engineering
Certification/Licensure
– Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
Technical Responsibilities
– Performs basic design tasks.
– Assists on tasks such as: field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
Project and Task Management
– Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
– No managerial responsibilities at this level.
Management Responsibility
– Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, particularly on difficult problems, and a general review of all aspects of work.
– Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer.
Communication Skills
– Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
– Engages in few project stakeholder interactions.
