DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Career Advisor, you will be conducting vocational and career assessments of jobseekers to determine career objectives, interests, skills, and abilities. Your focus will be identifying suitability for and/or barriers to employment and training, as well as providing appropriate tools and resources for jobseekers to achieve employment goals. This position promotes PA CareerLink services to businesses, community organizations, and the public. Included in your duties will be documenting activities and services in the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) and traveling as needed. You will have the opportunity to develop and conduct orientations and workshops, plan and conduct group and individualized career counseling, and assist jobseekers and employers with PA CareerLink online enrollment. You will work with employers to determine their workforce needs and address their recruitment and retention concerns.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greene County.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (commonwealth title) training program; or
One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelors degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
