Welcome to the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Where the arts come ALIVE! We are proud to serve as a cultural, artistic, educational, social, and economic resource for the Greater Johnstown area! The PPAC is located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and features many exciting events year-round! The PPAC is partnering with the First Summit Arena to bring a variety of performing arts events to the region.
The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra performs a full season at the PPAC. The PPAC is also a host to the UPJ music and theatre department events, the Johnstown Concert Ballet, and Out of His Mind Dance Company.
Job Summary
Oversees the day-to-day operations of one or more of the Design and Technical Spaces of the Theatre Arts department. Advises and consults with the technical director and team on production-related materials. Assists in quoting and purchasing materials, properties, and other necessary equipment for individual productions and shop inventory. Collaborates with the technical director and team on design implementation for departmental productions and the execution of projects. Attends Design and Technical Spaces production meetings. Assists in maintaining theatrical spaces, designs and inventories, & student safety training documentation. Assists with training and supervising student workers, over-hire technicians, students, and student volunteers during technical processes. Coordinates with production director and technical director to evaluate and accommodate seasonal internal and external rentals of spaces, goods, and equipment.
Essential Functions
Incumbent must be able to move objects up to 40 lbs., move around the various spaces of the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center and assists with all production needs.
Physical Effort
Ability to move – Lifting, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing. Operating technical systems, computer systems and clerical work.
