The Bureau of Health Statistics and Registries, Division of Vital Records is seeking a Clerical Assistant 3 to support the bureaus mission of managing a statewide registry for vital events through its responsibility for processing and fulfilling moderately complex applications for birth certificates. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will process, analyze, and fulfill complex applications for birth certificates. This work consists of researching discrepancies in names and dates, as well as verifying individuals identity when there is missing, edited, or questionable information. You will utilize computer applications, microfilm, and indices to search for live birth records. You will also analyze and cross reference other supporting information that may support an individuals identity either directly or indirectly. In this role, you must have an awareness of the vulnerable populations the organization serves by identifying, providing, and advocating for resources, services, communication methods, and policies to assist those populations achieve health equity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
– Full-time employment
– Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
– One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
– One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
– An equivalent combination of experience and training.
