Licensed Practical Nurse, OP – OB/GYN (Altoona, PA)

UPMC is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OP to join their OB/GYN outpatient office in Altoona, PA! This position will assist the clinical teams with scheduled procedures, triaging patient calls, rooming patients, and chaperoning with the provider. The LPN will play a key role as a member of the care delivery team.
Hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This position may require travel to other offices in surrounding areas to support staffing needs, as needed.
Sign-On Bonus Details:
$7,500 sign-on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience
$5,000 sign-on bonus available for Graduate Nurses and nurses with less than one year of experience
Responsibilities:
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Assess patients general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
