JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSPosition Introduction
Auxiliary and Business Services ABS Information and Technology office is actively searching for a highly motivated Application Developer – Business Intelligence.
Application Developers are responsible for designing and/or modifying computer systems and applications according to specifications and business requirements design, code, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain applications evaluate existing applications and recommend technical solutions to improve scalability may develop new applications when existing solutions are not available.
The Developer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and analysts to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. The primary focus of this position will be designing and developing business intelligence BI applications and architecture.

Location
The location of this job is primarily in person at the University Park Campus, in State College, PA. with some flexibility for an occasional hybrid mix of in-person and remote work. Candidates must live in the local area or be willing to travel to campus as needed at their own expense. Questions related to flexible work arrangements should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following
Analyze and Present Data Analyze data and present it through reports to aid in decision-making, identifying and monitoring key performance indicators KPIs.
Customize Data Models Understand business requirements and customize data models to best fit user
Build and Maintain PowerBI Dashboards Use advanced data modeling to create and support PowerBI-based dashboards and related infrastructure.
Design, code, test, debug, implement, modify, and maintain new or existing applications evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with browsers, devices, and operating systems
Collaborate for Insights Engage with subject matter experts and domain experts to gain operational insights and ensure data accuracy.
Investigate data and/or program problems determine source of problem and take corrective action
Communicate with Stakeholders Define deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities through effective communication with clients, partners, and internal analysts.
Integrate Reports Create, publish, and schedule Power BI reports, integrating them into other applications using embedded services or API automation.
Educate and Support Users Train users and stakeholders on self-service data solutions and provide ongoing support.
Qualifications
This position will be filled as an Intermediate Professional or Advance Professional Applications Developer, depending on the final applicants experience and educati n. The Intermediate Professional requires a minimum of an associate degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience, skills and familiarity in
Data Analysis Expression DAX experience – strong understanding and experience of Power BI application layer models
Experienced writing DAX defining, building, releasing, and evangelizing Power BI-based dashboards
Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and managing complex reports and dashboards
Proficient in Information Systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for translating data into meaningful visualizations
Working knowledge of Power Queries MS Power BI suite Power Query/M/DAX, R language, MS PowerApps
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS
It is preferred that the successful candidate also have
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
Experience working in Microsoft Fabric MS Fabric
Experience with .Net/C/ASP.NET
Experience with Python

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is
$61,800.00 – $115,100.00
