JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development’s Outreach Office invites applications for an Instructional Production Specialist position to join our growing learning design team. The successful candidate will provide administrative and specialized support for the college’s new and established online courses by supporting and collaborating with our learning design team, which includes instructional designers, instructional production specialists, multimedia specialists, and faculty.
Responsibilities:
Course Management: Set up and manage recurring tasks in the learning management system (Canvas) each semester for HHD online courses.
Content Development: Assist in creating and revising online course content, ensuring it meets the latest accessibility and quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Review and update course materials to align with accessibility requirements and educational quality benchmarks.
Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve course and technology-related requests, addressing both instructor and student concerns efficiently.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Learning Design team to explore new functionalities within Canvas and leverage emerging educational technologies.
Cross-functional Communication: Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to implement and manage current and future educational technologies, including third-party tools.

Qualifications:
This position will be filled at the Intermediate Support or Senior Support level, depending on the final candidates education and experience. Requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree, plus two years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the Intermediate support level. Additional education and/or experience is required for higher-level positions.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Baseline level of technology skills related to web production, such as HTML
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies and processes
Experience working with learning management systems, particularly Canvas.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and details effectively.
Ability to thrive in a diverse team-oriented environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation and creativity.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
A commitment to providing excellent customer service.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$34,800.00 – $55,500.00
