SALARY RANGE
$37,127.79 – $40,840.57 Annually $1,427.99 – $1,570.79 Biweekly

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual assigned to this position is responsible for performing prescribed care and treatment of patients under the direction of professional nursing staff and transportation for all off campus medical appointments.
Perform direct care and treatment and monitor the health status of patients under the supervision and direction of professional nursing staff. Perform simple nursing measures such as but not limited to: applying splints and positioning devices, making occupied and unoccupied beds, changing linens, taking vital signs, weights, recording intake and output, etc. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures. Observe all facility safety, infection control policy and procedures.
Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting; assistance with meals, nourishments, and transportation to meal service areas; and mobility. Assist in obtaining urine, blood, and other specimens. Respond to residents’ needs promptly and report concerns and observations to supervisor.
The individual assigned to this position is responsible for transportation of residents to and from all off campus medical appointments and transportation for discharges from the hospital. Assists with loading and unloading residents from a motor vehicle. Inspects vehicle and checks gas before departure. Ensure vehicles are full of gas before the end of their shift. Participate in emergency response on campus including but not limited to driving an emergency vehicle.
Assist medical and nursing personnel during minor surgical procedures, and specialty clinics.
Participate in the development and implementation of the care plan as outlined by the nursing plan of care. Carries out and documents programs and activities as indicated on individual support plan.
Assist in maintaining and stocking inventory of medical, nursing, and central supplies. Perform all other related duties as directed by immediate supervisor or designee, including training.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Florida Driver’s License.
If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days.
Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.
Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.
Must maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Direct Care In-Service.
Possession of an active/valid Certified Nursing Assistant License.
Complete all requirements to maintain license to include CEU’s.
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs with or without accommodations.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
