Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all product lines.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy, policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices, TSE (Test Systems Engineering) design practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects with moderate risk and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
The Engine Test Enabling Hardware Lead Engineer may participate in mentoring activities/tasks of less experienced engineers (PB), EEDPs, Co-Ops and may participate in design board activities or other extra curricular activities: TSE Academy
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
3 Years of experience in an engineering role
Experience designing mechanical components for Test Enabling/Test Rig Hardware
Desired Characteristics
Masters degree from an accredited university or college
Working knowledge of GE and Industry design standards and specifications
Experience designing services, frames, rigs, and other mechanical hardware.
Ansys, UG NX, and GD&T Skills
Project Management Skills
Previous Experience in a Test Systems Engineering department
Ability to obtain or currently hold an DoD Security Clearance
