Job Description:
The Operations Support Coordinator under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Operations supervises and schedules daytime transportation and parking activities and resources to include work assignment, equipment allocation and event operations to allow for work plan achievement. Oversees the supervision of personnel to include recruitment, selection, training, development and evaluation efforts. Assists with in-field technology coordination and equipment maintenance. This position oversees campus parking enforcement and field activities, manages parking signage and field equipment maintenance, and oversees the CATS Daily campus shuttle program including hiring and staff training, resource allocation and coordination and implementation of daily support activities for each program. Provides leadership support which is focused on ensuring team collaboration, providing solution-oriented and customer focused service care, and fostering a mindset of continuous process improvement within the unit
Job Responsibilities Include:
Support Staff Supervision:
Coordinates day-to-day field & operational activities for transportation & parking services programs to include oversight of intermittent & student transit drivers, full-time field ambassadors, and student /field ambassadors. Primary service responsibilities include oversight of campus parking enforcement and field activities, management of parking signage and field equipment maintenance, and oversight of the CATS Daily campus shuttle program including hiring and staff training, resource allocation and coordination and implementation of daily support activities for each program. Provides backfill support as needed for all other TPS service functions.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling & evaluation for operations support team. Directs the daily operations of assigned staff and ensures resources are available to achieve work plans and resolve complex business needs. Ensures staff adherence to standard operating procedures and service guidelines and compliance with university, state and federal staffing requirements and university Collective Bargaining agreements. Assists with documentation of standard operating procedures and provides recommendations for departmental training procedures. Serves as a front-line ambassador for TPS operational services with an emphasis on providing customer-focused and solution-oriented business support.
Staff Scheduling & Resource Coordination:
Responsible for scheduling & work process coordination for campus parking enforcement and CATS shuttle program to ensure adequate service level needs for departmental program offerings. Serves as primary point of contact for campus parking enforcement & CATS shuttle program providing after-hours resolution as needed to support campus functions. Organizes, plans, and oversees equipment and personnel resources to meet staffing & event need. Works closely with the operations and leadership teams to identify opportunities for service efficiencies and provide improved scheduling and resource distribution functionality. Collaborates with internal and external clients and ensures safety and consistent levels of professionalism and customer service are being maintained. Completes, distributes, and reviews operational service documents. Coordinates the acquisition of supplies and materials to complete work activities and partners with local suppliers as needed. Maintains record keeping and compliance documentation as directed based on service function.
In-Field Technology Coordination:
Supports in-field technology coordination efforts. Assists with performance and oversight of regular equipment maintenance and support activities. Administers staff training on equipment use, troubleshooting/repair and service support functions. Assists with coordination of facility operations and in-field lot maintenance activities. Supports data collection efforts as needed.
Service & Administrative Support Activities:
Assists with coordination of after-hours service functions for department as needed. Work to resolve complex service issues & ensure operational efficiency and high levels of customer service with minimal impact to business operations and service functions. Provide operations information and recommendations to strategic planning efforts and work closely with senior leadership members to ensure successful completion of projects and initiatives. Provide support and assist with special events and departmental functions as needed. Performs other misc. duties as assigned.
Transportation & Parking Services ( TPS ) is a 24-hour operation, 365 days a year. Position requires on-call status to respond to operational needs & service calls, mitigate travel & maintenance impacts and work through the resolution of customer support inquiries as they arise.
This position requires ability to think and react quickly and manage multiple tasks and functions within a fast-paced and dynamic office environment. Position requires customer-centric focus and critical thinking, conflict resolution, leadership and problem solving skills. Must be self-motivated and team-oriented.
Successful candidate will be required to meet the following requirements:
– Must Possess A Valid Driver’s License
– Must possess or be able to obtain an Underground Storage Tank ( UST ) Class C Operator Certification within 30 days of employment
– Must possess or be able to obtain pavement/asphalt inspection certification and PAVER database training within one year of employment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree, or vocational or technical school degree
Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Advertised Salary:
The target salary range is $45,837 to $51,377 commensurate with the selected candidate’s education and experience while considering internal equity.
