JOB SUMMARY
Marriott International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endpoint Security Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of endpoint security, with expertise in areas such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), application control, change detection, and other security controls across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and protection of our organizations endpoints against emerging threats while contributing to a secure and resilient IT infrastructure.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certification.
7 years of information technology experience, with 5 years of experience in endpoint security across both on-premise and public Cloud environments.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the design, implementation, review, and optimization of endpoint security solutions, including but not limited to Anti-malware, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Application Controls, Host Intrusion Detection/Prevention (HIDS/HIPS), and Firewalls.
Strong understanding of malware families, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and outbreak containment strategies.
Solid experience across multiple operating system platforms – Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Preferred:
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows administrative tools, and Unix/Linux command-line utilities.
Knowledge of common information security management frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS-140, CSA) and a good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS).
Proficiency with endpoint security tools like Crowdstrike, Microsoft Defender, Trend Micro, or similar solutions.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, VBScript) to automate security tasks and processes.
Current information security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar certifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, as well as in cross-functional teams.
Experience managing security controls and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Technical infrastructure operations, administration, or engineering experience is a plus.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design, deployment, administration, and management of endpoint security controls across a complex environment.
Continually update, refine, and enforce policies, processes, and procedures related to endpoint security controls.
Assess systems and vendor solutions with the goal of identifying gaps and remediating potential weaknesses in endpoint security platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate security controls into the endpoint environment.
Partner closely with Windows, Linux, and Mac engineering leads to align security efforts with system roadmaps and initiatives.
Oversee major upgrades or patches for Endpoint Security tools and develop smooth transition plans.
Serve as the key contact between various support teams for issues related to endpoint security on client platforms.
Develop and drive client security models and best practices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Work autonomously with minimal supervision, applying advanced skills and expertise to production systems.
Leverage knowledge-sharing networks and professional relationships to promote collaboration and achieve common goals.
Assist in developing long-term strategies for securing endpoints that align with current and future business needs.
Identify, manage, and report key metrics for the Endpoint Security environment, ensuring performance is tracked and communicated effectively.
Stay current with evolving endpoint security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to recommend proactive measures.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and knowledge in endpoint security.

The salary range for this position is $132,900 to $160,300 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
