Job Description

A part-time Pharmacist position is available with the Iowa Medical and Classification Center located in Coralville, IA. Successful candidates must be capable of participating in the frequently high volume daily routine of a Correctional Pharmacy including but not limited to receiving, reviewing, interpreting, and processing medication orders transmitted to the pharmacy via the ICON computer program, supervising support personnel and students during the performance of their assigned tasks, and working and communicating with other DOC staff on a daily basis. Must be able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision; honesty, integrity, and attention to detail are also essential.

Applicants should be registered pharmacists in the state of Iowa or possess a license eligible for reciprocity.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Occasional adjustments may be necessary to accommodate staffing needs. No nights, weekends, or holidays required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners.

Employees of the Department of Public Health are expected to live in and travel in a specified area in the State of Iowa.
