SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Oversee Export, Import, and Intermodal logistics team member(s).

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Oversee day to day operations in Export, Import, and Intermodal Transportation for all Kent Corporation subsidiary companies.
– Ensure sufficient Export/Import/Intermodal equipment capacity for freight volume, anticipate need, and adjust levels to achieve coverage.
– Manage IPI/Ramp operations with Export/Import booking schedules using Intermodal partners, Ocean carriers, and Agents to ensure timely shipments while avoiding additional costs due to market conditions
– Establish/maintain relationships with Ocean carriers, Freight Forwarders, and NVOCCs to meet the current and future needs of all Kent Corporation subsidiary companies
– Manage Dangerous Goods ISO tank shipments while following DG regulations
– Oversee Canada/Mexico cross-border shipment customs compliance
– Negotiate FCL, LCL Air, and Intermodal Contract/Spot freight rates as well as assist Manager of Transportation Services with securing the most economic pricing for required routes
– Ensure Export and Import compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, including customs laws, tariffs, EEI/ITN filing, and documentation requirements
– Implement and maintain CTPAT certification requirements, ensuring security of the supply chain and adherence to CTPAT guidelines.
– Analyze costs associated with import and export operations, develop budgets, and identify areas for cost reduction.
– Identify and mitigate risks related to international trade, including delays, regulatory changes, and supply chain disruptions.
– Regularly analyze trade data and trends to inform strategic decisions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

– Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is required.
– Proven expertise in advanced data analysis, data management, and/or applications of these tools is beneficial (e.g. business intelligence, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics AX, D365 etc).
– 10 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent discipline
– Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access Word and PowerPoint)
– Experience working with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, autonomous environment
– Excellent decision making, people management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
– Must be a team player, and understand impact to others on complex business needs
– Effective written and verbal communication skills
