Allied Wire & Cable , a GCG company, is seeking a dynamic Facility Operations Manager to lead our Pewaukee, Wisconsin facility, a key hub in our supply chain operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee a diverse range of value-added services and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
As the Facility Operations Manager, youll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. Youll lead a dedicated team of 10 warehouse employees that handle shipping and receiving and various wire and cable value-added activities including striping, drum packing, regular spooling, big cut activity, and twisting operations.
Your mission will be to maintain and enhance the established positive culture and operational improvements of this facility. Youll be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while continuously improving our processes and efficiency.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a passion for operational excellence, and can balance strategic thinking with practical, day-to-day management.
What you’ll do
Manage daily operations of a 10-person team, overseeing various value-added services including striping, giant drum packing, spooling, and twisting
Ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct monthly inspections, and foster a strong safety culture
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality management systems (e.g., ISO)
Optimize workflow to process approximately tickets and customer orders daily
Maintain and improve facility equipment and layout
Promote cross-training and accountability among team members
Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction through quality control and production audits
What you’ll bring
Proven experience in facility operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong background in continuous improvement methodologies and quality management systems
Exposure to 5S continuous improvement principles strongly preferred
Ability to read a variety of communications, work tickets, packing slips, emails, memos and follow directions as written. You must also possess excellent communication skills and be able to follow verbal and written directions.
Experience with ERP and supply chain systems
Mechanical acumen and ability to manage facility maintenance
Excellent leadership and team development skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness
Familiarity with operational excellence programs and tools (e.g., RedZone) is a plus
