Job Description
The controller plays an integral role in helping deliver exceptional work with dependable, value-driven excellence, while fostering a safe, efficient work environment. This individual assists the president in directing the daily financial operations of the company, as well as the long-term strategic direction of the company. This individual is responsible for overseeing all fiscal and accounting responsibilities, compliance, and operations of the companys effectiveness; mitigating fiscal and operational risk. This individual is self-motivated and detail oriented, has strong communication and organizational skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction software programs, and the ability to multitask.
• Manage all accounting, financial reporting, cash requirements, and taxes.
• Direct and develop corporate budget.
• Analyze terms on borrowing and managing cash, lines of credit, and working capital accounts to optimize cash flow.
• Work with independent auditors to complete the annual review/audit of the company financial statements.
• Work with broker on insurance coverage for liability workers compensation, vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in the development of company business plans, including the short and long range financial objectives.
• Develop break-even analysis and financial statement forecasts to aid in strategic planning by estimating and forecasting company performance in various volume and staffing scenarios.
• Assist with tasks including benefits and 401(k) administration.
• Source lenders, maintain loan documents, banking, and outside partner relationships.
• Analyze financial performance of all ongoing projects on a continual basis and report results.
• Review individual weekly project performance with each project manager.
• Forecast individual project performance on an ongoing basis.
• Direct and coordinate financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.
• Analyze operations to evaluate performance in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
• Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.
• Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.
• Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services.
