Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic human resources
consultation and support to leaders and employees in assigned
colleges/departments in the university. The HRBP leverages strong
background/experience in multiple areas of HR (e.g., employment,
employee relations, engagement, HR policies, compensation, etc.) to
guide and advise on a wide array of workforce and organizational

Strategic partner and trusted advisor: Proactively partners with
assigned college/department leaders and employees, providing counsel,
support, and guidance on a wide variety of workforce matters including
employee relations, workforce management and staffing, employee
engagement, job design, and employment policy/compliance. Identifies HR
strategies that align with university and college/department goals.
Works with supervisors to provide full performance leadership and
support enabled by timely and effective feedback. Advances best
practices in management. Guides and counsels on corrective action
matters including processes, documentation, and appropriate
interventions. Conducts investigations relating to violations of
Marquette policies and applicable employment regulations/laws. May
participate with other campus offices (e.g., Title IX) in their
investigations. Analyzes employee engagement, exit interviews, and other
workforce data to inform action planning and other improvement
opportunities within assigned colleges/departments. Advises and guides
supervisors on compensation issues in partnership with HR compensation,
including job design/descriptions, and salary/pay issues. Leads
supervisors and employees through interactive processes and brings
resolution to ADA accommodation requests. Partners with third party
vendor on employee leave and return to work processes (e.g., FMLA and
personal leaves). Serves as HR liaison for college/department in crisis

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A bachelors
degree in human resources, Business or related field. A minimum of 3
years of related, relevant experience. Effective communication and
exceptional listening skills. Ability to work with ambiguity.
Demonstrated courage and composure in difficult situations. Demonstrated
judgment, discretion, and strict confidentiality. Knowledge of local,
state, and federal employment regulations and laws. Excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with people
of different backgrounds, perceptions, and experiences. Proven
experience with managing complex employee relations investigations.
Exceptional problem-solving skills. Effective relationship-building
skills across all levels of employees. Ability to independently set
priorities and manage multiple assignments/projects/situations with
tight deadlines. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A masters
degree in human resources, Business or related field. PHR/SPHR or SHRM
SPC certification Experience with labor relations and/or collective
