Job Title: QC Lab Manager

Job Description

Supervise QC Technicians and assist in inspection and testing activities according to documented procedures to verify that the specified requirements for production material and finished products are met.

Review QC records for accuracy.

Develop and maintain QC procedures and analytical methods for best practices and according to current monographs (FCC, AOCS, EP, USP-NF, etc.).

Follow procedures for the control, scheduled calibration, and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment, ensuring equipment is in accurate working order.

Obtain quotations, place orders, follow up on orders, and manage department budget for equipment, chemicals, and supplies.

Prepare COAs, package samples for customer evaluation, and perform other tasks as directed by management.

Understand and follow company quality, safety, health, environmental, and security system policies and procedures.

Be involved in training for the production team and method development.

Shift : 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Qualifications

– Bachelors degree in life sciences required

– 5 years of technical experience, with 2-3 years of supervisory experience.

QC Manager soft skills:

– Someone who can operate in the grey and think outside the box.

– Personality, culture fit, and coachability is the key soft skills.

– Want someone that can be themselves an grow and change with the company

– People from Corporate pharma would not do well.

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

Team Size: 40 employees in Janesville, with a total of 75-80 employees nationally. The QC Manager will oversee a small lab team, with 2 lab techs per shift. Works closely with R&D manager and QA Manager.

Daily Overview:

Communicate with team members to determine sample load and prioritization of samples and testing.

Participate in morning meetings with leadership.

Perform specific testing requested by clients.

Manage the techs and ensure they are prepared for the day and their responsibilities.
