The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Implementing and overseeing change management as it relates to product design changes for quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction

Leading resolution of product quality issues including implementation of future preventions

Utilizing available resources and experts to create impactful design changes to existing products in order to maximize customer satisfaction and promote business success

Participating on divisional New Product Introduction (NPI) teams and identifying, developing, and commercializing new opportunities for our Building and Construction Platform

Creating intellectual property to grow and protect new proprietary technology products and platforms

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Three (3) years of Product Engineering, Product Development or Manufacturing Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Masters or PhD in disciplines such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

Skills include self-driven learner with strong communication, problem solving and strengths working in a team environment.

Experience with statistics (DOE, Statistical Process Controls, Minitab, Crystal Ball) and principles required to understand, interpret, and communicate results

Experience with pilot and scale up manufacturing activities

Experience with new product and technology commercialization processes

Experience developing intellectual property portfolios in collaboration with legal and technical experts

Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies

Work location:

On-site in St. Paul, MN

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 – $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
