Overview: Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Designer/Drafter on its Curtainwall / Metal Panel Construction Team located in Champlin, MN. This individual would develop CAD submittal drawings and produce models based on the systems and parts to be used in purchasing and installation of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems. Responsibilities: The basic responsibilities of the Designer/Drafter include but are not limited to the following: Assisting in analyzing Curtainwall / Metal Panel drawings specifications and related data to determine design requirements Draft all system-specific details of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems, including all submittal drawings, shop drawings, and parts drawings using CAD based software Model all system-specific components of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems, including all extrusions, break metal, steel, and accessory parts using Autodesk Inventor software. Assisting in creation of assembly drawings, bill of materials, part drawings, and frame drawings using modeling software Other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Knowledge of Curtainwall / Metal panel basics; experience in a design role in the Curtainwall / Metal panel industry is highly preferred Two-year degree or Vo-Tech certificate and/or four year degree related to drafting/architecture or mechanical design with a focus on modeling software Ability to read and interpret specs and blueprints; Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Inventor – intermediate to advanced proficiency Proficient in the use of Google Suite Strong organizational skills with a knack to deal with competing customer needs Ability to communicate with team members and others – written and verbal. Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Inventor and AutoCAD Software Parametric Modeling Usage of Inventors Vault part management system Able to accurately build and manipulate 3D models Able to identify and resolve spatial conflicts???????
