Position Purpose:
The Manager, HR Technology’s focus is to shape Sleep Number’s HCM capability. The Manager, HR Technology prioritizes and directs all HRIS operations within Workday including HCM, payroll, timekeeping, scheduling, talent management, learning, benefits, and talent acquisition. The Manager, HR Technology is a people leader overseeing the team of analysts and senior analysts while serving as a player/coach driving process improvements and new capabilities within the Human Resources department. In this role, you will oversee functions related to user security, business process workflows, functionality deployment and systems integrations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify, plan, manage, and deliver moderate to complex Workday centric projects while ensuring stakeholder buy-in by providing a high quality of service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Own the prioritization process and stakeholder conversations, evaluating need and timing based on criticality of request, committed work, and dependencies from a roadmap perspective.
Provide team leadership to the HR technology team: coaching, mentoring, escalation support, and daily operational support.
Lead projects relating to planning, design, implementation, integration and maintenance of Workday with a focus on process efficiency, scalability and team member experience.
Manage the various HR systems and related analytics with emphasis on maximizing Workday HRIS and ensuring maximum interconnectivity between relevant HR systems.
Apply human resources functional knowledge to influence and collaborate with Human Resources Centers of Excellence, Human Resources Business Partners and IT to understand human resources strategy.
Maintain accurate change management documentation to satisfy internal/external audit controls and compliance practices.
Overall accountability for data governance, security, and compliance for Human Resources.
Provide input in partnership with the Senior Director, HR Operations to includend and execute Sleep Numbers HR technology vision and roadmap, aligning technical advancements and solutions with business goals.
Remain current on industry standards and best practices to provide continuous improvement for HRIS solutions.
Assume additional responsibilities, and special projects, as requested.
Position Requirements:
6 years of experience working in Human Resources or HRIS Technology
2-4 years of Workday experience
Workday Pro certifications preferred
BS/BA or equivalent work experience required
Progressive experience working with people information and with HRIS and HR technology systems, experience with Workday and Power BI required.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to strategically partner with various leadership levels across the organization
Demonstrated communication and change management skills, including the ability to effectively translate technical concepts for a lay audience
Ability to effectively and proactively inform, convince, influence, and educate executives, cross-functional stakeholders, and team members
Advanced MS Excel knowledge required
Strong communication skills (writing, oral and presentation)
Ability to work well in team environment including the ability to work with peer leaders and individuals at all levels in an organization
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to empower the team to make decisions about their work, balance their workload, and look for operational improvement opportunities
Ability to see and understand the bigger picture strategy and vision for the organization and connect those to the direction and operational activities of the team.
Ability to provide excellent HR support service to other HR teams, and team members across Sleep Number
Ability to intake new requests for support and prioritize with key stakeholders, effectively align resources with the work.
Ability to establish a trusted network of technical and data experts across the organization to collaborate effectively across teams on new initiatives.
Ability to alter communication approach for the audience, translating data into actionable insights & communicating the team’s priorities to senior leadership
