Role Summary
Cogents Service Center in Riverside, MO is seeking an experiencedManual Machinist. Under minimal supervision, you will set up and operate manually controlled lathes, mills, vertical turret lathes, and boring mills in skilled precision and bench work for fabrication, maintenance, repair, and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical turret lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, horizontal boring mill, hydraulic press, band saw, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment
Machine parts from a variety of steel, stainless steel, and bronze such as shafts, bushings, wear rings, and impellers. Bore and sleeve worn castings to restore proper dimensions
Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and instruction manuals
Recognize, select, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling
Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
Service and repair various types of rotating equipment typically found in the water and wastewater industry. Frequently working under tight deadlines
Document precision quality repairs in our current reporting software
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner

Position Requirements
Preferred Experience and Certifications
High level of mechanical aptitude (required)
At least 1 year experience as a Manual Machinist or Trade School Certification in Machining (required)
Ability to use precision measuring tools (required)
Experience operating manual lathes, mills, vertical turret lathes, and boring mills (required)
Experience working on pumps (preferred)
Ability to lift heavy items to 50 lbs. Must pass pre-employment physical (required)
