[ROLE AND PURPOSE:]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}
– To assist in providing a district-wide Health/PE curriculum infrastructure and support
– To develop programs, instructional tools, products, and direct the training of campus and district staff to support the comprehensive Health/PE curriculum.
– To support district goals by assisting campus and district personnel toward innovative teaching practices that promote successful student outcomes.
[QUALIFICATIONS:
[Education/Certification:]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}
– Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in education, kinesiology, physical education, or related field (required)
– Masters degree (completed or in progress) from an accredited institution in education, school leadership, kinesiology, physical education, or related field (preferred)
– Valid Texas teachers certificate with specialization in PE and/or Health

– Minimum of three years teaching experience in Health and/or PE
– Prior experience leading Health/PE at the district level (preferred)
[SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:]{open=”” sans”,sans-serif”=””}
– Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
– Thorough knowledge of the TEAs Physical Education Outcomes and applicable federal guidelines (504/I.D.E.A.), NASPE Physical Education Standards; thorough knowledge of comprehensive physical education programs and related educational principles, practices, and procedures; familiar with teacher evaluation system; ability to organize and lead curriculum development with an emphasis on developing alternatives to traditional curriculum and assessment strategies; ability to assess program needs and implement change; excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills; ability to work effectively with principals and teachers to assist with district-wide program implementation; possess skills in organizing and conducting small and large group meetings; excellent organizational skills; ability to learn and successfully implement budget preparation and accounting procedures; knowledge and understanding in health and physical education at elementary and secondary levels.
