Support/Hourly – Position – Classroom Assistant – Elementary

Primary Purpose:

– Serves as instructional teaching assistant to a regular education classroom.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

Major Responsibilities:

– Assist teacher in one-to-one or small group instruction.
– Assist in maintenance of structured classroom routine
– Perform program-related data-keeping tasks
– Operate duplicating, laminating, and audio-visual equipment
– Assist teacher in providing a behavior management program which emphasizes positive reinforcement
– Assist with extracurricular activities and similar events
– Help keep classroom orderly and attractive
– Decorate bulletin boards
– Other duties as assigned by the teacher, lead teacher, and/or principal

Additional Job Information
This position is expected to attend a 3-day World Language Academy Institute.This is a pooled position. It is open year round even if no current openings exist.
