PHYSICAL WORK ADDRESS: Palo Pinto Mountains State Park, 1915 FM 2372, Strawn, TX 76475
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work including the daily operation and maintenance of park facilities, grounds, and equipment for Palo Pinto Mountains State Park. Serves as the Back-Up Utility Plant Operator (UPO) and assists in the operation, maintenance, and repairs to the Water Distribution System and Wastewater Systems. Responsible for regulatory compliance in all utility operations and completion of required reports and laboratory testing as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Operates all types of equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, and power tools. Provides quality visitor services by, providing information, and quality customer service to visitors. Assists in enforcing park rules and regulations, performs resource management tasks, and interprets the parks natural resources. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED.
Experience:
Three years of facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance experience.
Licensure:
Must possess a valid State drivers license at the time of hire.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, a class D Water and Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
NOTE: Retention of position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining license and compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Qualitys (TCEQ) Criminal Conviction Guidelines.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:
Experience:
Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of two years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Customer service, outdoor education, and/or public relations experience.
Water and wastewater experience.
Licensure:
Current class D Water and Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
