Job Duties and Qualifications
Duties:
Responsibilities include: Responsible for new product development of power electronics applications from concept to commercialization. Work on multiple projects including sustaining activities for existing products. The candidate will be responsible for developing systems that meet written specifications and requirements for functionality and performance. The candidate may also be responsible for monitoring and communicating with outside entities that are providing engineering support or performing consulting activities. Conduct periodic reporting of planned and completed development activities, providing estimated completion dates, and prompt reporting of issues. Lead and execute programs as required, by establishing project development plans and approving design documents that follow Health, Safety, and Environment processes. Provide engineering guidance and use advanced engineering techniques and propose new technologies to address unique system needs. Deliver innovative Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers. Provide technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in an R&D Electrical Engineering related occupation.
Position also requires experience in the following:
1. Experience with simulation and modeling of power electronics designs as well as hands on testing to validate analytical work.
2. Experience designing DC/DC and AC/DC converters for high efficiency in space constrained environments in the range of tens of watts up to ten kilowatts.
3. Experience simulating systems and sub-systems, overseeing prototype builds, devising test plans, and documenting designs and test results.
4. Experience with power electronic devices such as MOSFET, SiC JFET, IGBT, SCR and their application in power electronics designs.
5. Experience with thermal management and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout of power electronics circuits.
6. Experience with voltage and current mode control methods and modern power supply topologies.
7. Experience designing high efficiency, high power magnetics, and filters.
8. Experience with feedback loop design, stability analysis and testing.
9. Experience with motor drives, actuators and relevant control systems, signal processing, analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems and design for high temperature harsh environments.
