Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a qualified candidate to join our Process Safety Management (PSM) Team as a PSM Engineer. The PSM Engineer reports to the PSM Superintendent at the Sweeny/Clemens/Old Ocean (SCO) Complex located in Sweeny, TX. This position supports PSM activities for all olefins and derivative units at the complex and requires interaction with the SCO Leadership Team, presentations to SCO Employees and corporate upper management. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate as an auditor for PSM Compliance Audits at other sites in the corporation.
Responsibilities
Leader of the site Risk Management Steering Committee (RMSC) and Risk Register process
Core Team Member for Corporate Risk Management Network
Site Coordinator for the Management of Change (MOC) Process
Participate in High Consequence and High Potential Incident Investigation Teams
Facilitates resolution of daily PSM/OE related issues and sets cultural expectations for world-class PSM performance
Supports sites on-going Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), including pre and post PHA work
Maintain and drive improvement on PSM site metrics
Process Safety Best Practice Team Member
Participation in other PSM areas such as Metrics, Facility Siting, RMP, etc. as necessary
Potentially work with and coordinate group of contractors that develop and maintain the sites Independent Protection Layer (IPL) List
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5 years of manufacturing experience
Results oriented individual to drive risk reduction and continual improvement
Ability to coordinate multi-disciplined teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of an organization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Mechanical Integrity programs
