Position Description:

Assigns and supervises the work of custodians and performs custodial duties involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Supervises the work of five or more custodians.

Major/Essential Functions:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of assigned building(s) per TTU Custodial Team Cleaning standards

Follows Team Cleaning Absence Staffing Plan.

Performs key handler duties by picking up and dropping off keys daily, ensuring the security of the building by locking doors at the assigned time.

Assist Area Supervisor by maintaining the inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies

Coordinate with staff that there are accurate counts of those supplies

Orders laundered items needed for the week on assigned day(s).

Provides direction, training, and work review to assigned custodial staff

Organizes and assigns work, sets priorities, and follows up to ensure the coordination and completion of assigned work.

Good team building skills by showing a willingness to assist others as needed

Excellent written, face-to-face, and telephone communication skills

5 year experience in building custodial work and floor maintenance

Experience in training others

Experience in supervising custodian teams
