Job Summary / Purpose
The Clinical Data Analyst is a hands-on data analyst, technologist and designer who has experience in information management and data warehousing technologies to provide expertise in the areas of business intelligence, data analytics, data mining, visualization, assessment of data quality and consistency across platforms, products for business and clinical areas. This position is accountable for and will manage day-to-day analytic and logistic aspects of clinical measures and clinical reporting and analytics. This position supports Quality initiatives relating to goal development and reporting that drives improvement in clinical care. In addition, this position creates analytics to investigate the financial impacts and the number of lives impacted as a result of the quality interventions. This position also requires processing, analyzing, and producing reports monitoring CommonSpirit Health clinical quality initiatives as well as externally published complex data sets to be used for internal reporting purposes.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Design, implement and manage portals, dashboards, analytic tools and reporting platforms to deliver clinical data products.
Ensure Data Integrity and Data Quality frameworks are applied to BI Infrastructure.
Provide data extract requested for external entities and ensure compliance.
Take the lead from System Manager, Clinical Data Products on well-defined and focused delivery of clinical data products.
Propose and assist analytics engineers to develop, and deploy best practices DataOps for efficient and high quality data product delivery.
Ensure adherence to relevant Change Control policies, and other standards/practices related to release progression.
Develop and demonstrate relevant Proof-of-Concept solutions to leadership for consideration.
Assist in the development of end user documentation, particularly around interpretation of analytics and reporting.
Collaborate and develop end user requirements for data products by gaining an intimate understanding of the clinical domain and how the data are to be used
Leverage best practices on visualizing data for the data products to convey insights quickly and without ambiguity
Lead and develop analytics to support lives impacted and dollars saved measures as a result of quality department support in care delivery processes.
Lead the quality check (QC) the scorecard and other reports and analytics published by the National Quality team.
Contribute to building clinical measure repository – a joint collaborative initiative between National Quality Analytics & Reporting team and Population Health Management to identify and track financial contract agreements based on quality measures.
Manage, implement, and monitor the audit processes to ensure quality of the data for benchmarks and performance.
Work closely with clinical leadership to identify causes of variation and recommend actions to be taken to improve reporting or escalate to the appropriate individual or committee for further action.
Investigate and answer user data questions
Create quality reporting presentations for the Quality Department Leadership to use in Board, Operations and Executive Teams
Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
Analyze, evaluate, and overcome quality data issues, and produce ad hoc reports for management and stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, MIS, related field or equivalent education and work experience may be considered.
Relevant experience in the health sector is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ related work experience in the discipline.
Experience using agile methodologies is a plus.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Knowledge of analytic best practices within healthcare and across analytically driven organizations
Understanding of data modeling, such as star/snowflake schemas, normalized and denormalized models, handling dimensions/attributes.
Understanding of master data management, slowly-changing dimensions, flexible data warehousing patterns and data modeling techniques.
Ability to understand and discover clinical data requirements and translate raw data into insights the clinical users can easily understand and comprehend
Bringing all aspects of data, analytics and UI together to present data to meet the needs of the audience.
Strong working knowledge of SQL query language, SQL Server and other Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
Strong development skills, relevant to data warehousing, analytics, reporting and related technologies.
Ability to build visualizations in modern tools such as Power BI, Looker, Excel, Sheets or other analytical presentation tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities, be flexible and have excellent time management.
High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to relate and communicate effectively in both the technical and business settings to stakeholders and colleagues from different backgrounds and levels of understanding. The ability to describe abstract technology and data concepts to non-technical users.
Pay Range
$33.68 – $48.84 /hour
