POSITION SUMMARY:
Prevent drowning and other injuries in the Aquatics Center at the Glenwood
Springs Community Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Monitor activities in and near the water through patron surveillance.
2. Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or
behaviors.
3. Enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
4. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies.
5. Administer first aid and CPR, including using an automated external
defibrillator (AED).
6. Work as a team with other lifeguards, facility staff, and management.
7. Test the pool water chemistry.
8. Assist patrons by performing safety orientations, administering swim
tests, fitting lifejackets and other duties.
9. Clean or perform maintenance.
10. Complete forms and reports.
11. Perform opening duties, closing duties, and facility safety checks
and inspections.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Necessary:
Must be 15 years of age or older
Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED
