Para Professional (Kanab Middle School)

Part-time Para Professional needed for a Kane County school.

Description:

Part-time ParaProfessional, up to 29.5 hours per week. Duties include working with students, classroom management, assisting classroom teachers, providing mini-lessons to individual classes, and support/tutor students under teacher direction.  The majority of the Instructional Assistants assigned time will be spent in direct instructional activities with assigned students or small groups.

Term Of Employment – One hundred eighty (180) day contract year unless identified otherwise.  Year-to-year employment is based upon the districts need for Instructional Assistant services. Maximum weekly hours of employment will be 29.5 hours (unless identified otherwise) or when eligible for additional hours based upon URS requirements.

Salary based on Kane District salary schedule with no benefits. 

Requirements:

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess an Associates Degree (or higher) or successfully pass the ParaPro Praxis test. Must pass a background check- no charge. 

Must possess excellent communication skills, classroom management, the ability to work closely with teachers and students, and basic technology skills needed to run programs and media software programs. Will provide instructional and behavioral support and serve the instructional/behavioral needs of specific/designated students within general education and special education programs.
