Mine Surveyor

Surveyor needed for a Milford, UT mine.
Summary/Objective
The Surveyor plays a critical role in the planning, design, and execution of mining operations by providing accurate and reliable surveying data and support. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and proficiency in surveying techniques and equipment.
Wage will be arranged with employer.
Essential Functions
1. Topographic Surveys:
– Conduct topographic surveys to map surface features, terrain, and infrastructure within the mining area.
– Utilize total stations, GPS equipment, and other surveying tools to collect accurate elevation and location data.
2. Mine Planning and Design:
– Assist in mine planning activities by providing survey data for the design and layout of mining operations, infrastructure, and support facilities.
– Collaborate with engineers and geologists to optimize mine designs and layouts based on surveying data and geological information.
3. Stockpile Measurement and Monitoring:
– Measure and monitor stockpile volumes to track ore production and inventory levels.
– Conduct regular surveys of stockpiles using drone technology, LiDAR scanners, or traditional surveying methods.
4. Pit and Bench Monitoring:
– Monitor pit and bench stability through regular surveying and slope monitoring activities.
– Provide timely feedback on potential slope stability issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
5. Drill and Blast Support:
– Assist in drill and blast operations by providing accurate survey control for drill hole positioning and blast design.
– Conduct pre-blast and post-blast surveys to assess blast performance and fragmentation.
6. Survey Data Analysis and Reporting:
– Process, analyze, and interpret survey data to generate maps, plans, and reports f
or use by mine planning, engineering, and management teams.
– Communicate survey findings, trends, and recommendations effectively to relevant stakeholders.
7. Safety and Compliance:
– Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing surveying activities.
– Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with surveying work.

Exerting 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly. Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Light Work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
– Bachelors degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in surveying, preferably in the mining industry

Proficiency in surveying instruments and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and CAD software
– Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies
– Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
