Job Description
We are seeking a first-rate Manufacturing Engineer with experience in composite aircraft assembly. The primary task will be to help establish the manufacturing process flow and documentation for the fabrication and installation of avionics components in an effort to set up production line operations for the Production Team. The Manufacturing Engineer in this position will help define what production equipment, tools, systems, and materials will be required to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. After production operations begin, the engineer will assist in overseeing much of the avionics installation and work on process improvement and production optimization using lean processes and tools. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes on the factory floor, developing and improving manufacturing methods, analyzing and planning workforce utilization, and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. The engineer will also confer with planning and design staff, vendors, and management to ensure efficient production methods, verify engineering designs for manufacturability, estimate production times and costs, and create manufacturing and nonconformance work instructions.
