Our Legal Division is expanding to enhance solutions for millions of clients and their families. We are looking for an experienced attorney to partner with business leaders across the firm to provide strategic legal advice and guidance in support of the firms multi-disciplinary transformational efforts and Product Management function that deliver financial products, solutions, and services to the firms clients and branch teams.

What You Will Do:

This position includes working with business leaders to develop solutions that serve our clients best interests and deliver an exceptional experience for our branch teams, clients, and the firm. This opportunity will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to be a part of a culture that inspires the individual and supports him or her. The associate will be responsible for:

Providing strategic legal leadership to the U.S. business segments multi-disciplinary, transformational efforts and Product Management function to ensure solutions are delivered in a way that provides an ideal experience for clients, branch teams, and colleagues, while meeting legal and regulatory obligations and mitigating risk.

Understanding and interpreting laws, rules and regulations affecting the Firms business.

Proactively spotting legal, regulatory, and business risks, and coordinating with subject matter experts to ensure business leaders understand those risks while meeting business objectives.

Navigating complex issues and partnering with peers and leaders within and outside the Legal Division to connect dot across initiatives, advise on impacts to the Firm and develop best practices for executing on the Firms plan.

Effectively communicating and sharing information across the Firm and Legal Division.

Managing a workload that is large, diverse, and complex.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $136571

Hiring Maximum: $232541

Skills/Requirements

Experience You Need:

Juris Doctorate with exceptional academic credentials required

Securities/Financial industry experience or experience in a highly regulated industry is required

License to practice law in Missouri or an equivalent state

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility as an attorney in private practice, in the public sector (including with a regulator) or in an in-house counsel capacity

Technological aptitude and ability to learn new technologies

What Could Set You Apart:

Experience providing legal support to high-risk, complex business projects, as in-house or outside counsel, is highly preferred

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
