Job Title: 1st Shift- Mechanical Assembler- $25-27/hr- (Cerritos)- Start ASAP

Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a long-term Mechanical Assembler. This companys FreeSpin® In-line Turboexpander (FIT) Generator uses advanced magnetic technologies to reduce gas pressure and capture energy lost in pressure reduction.

This position is responsible for assembling high-speed motor, generator, and turbomachinery equipment, including sub-assemblies in accordance with applicable drawings, schematics, and specifications. The job will require assembly of turboexpanders, including electrical connections and magnetic bearing systems for production and development.

Responsibilities:

– Assemble high precision motor, generator, and turbo machinery equipment components and systems

– Execute test operations with engineering instruction and document results

– Route wires, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components

– Follow assembly instructions, prints, and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical parts

– Read schematics and drawings of electrical systems to determine the efficiency and safety of the installation

– Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment repairs

– Manufacture custom wiring harnesses to fit equipment

– Route, comb, twist, tie wrap, and attach wire to terminal points using soldering gun and hand tools

– Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs using ohmmeter, ammeter, oscilloscopes, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments

– Wire and terminate components such as relays, circuit breakers, connectors, switches, circuit breakers, buss panels, and reconnection boards

– Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly

– Fabricate, form, and assemble parts according to specifications using drills, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, cutters, and saws

– Log in to proper sequences according to routing/traveler

– Use hand and power tools, as well as operate forklifts and cranes

– Provide field support to assist in commissioning and troubleshooting as required

– Follow all safety procedures in handling equipment and machines

– Adhere to the company safety policy, including wearing safety glasses and shoes when required

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cerritos, California.

Work Environment

Monday-Friday: 7:00am-4:00pm

Overtime during the week before/after shift and Overtime Saturdays

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
