Hourly Pay Range (Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum):

$23.250 – $26.777 – $30.304

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

This position will cross to all modalities in Radiology (PET, NM, CT, XT, MRI).

What You Will Do

Assist with completing Imaging Center procedures including transportation and monitoring patients to and from, as well as during Imaging Center procedures. Provide receptionist and clerical support to Imaging Technologists.

Required Qualifications

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association -REQUIRED

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

1 Year Experience with patient care.

Essential Functions

Communication/Clerical SkillsPrior to exam, confirm patient is ready.Communicate scheduled times, preparation and related information to the technologist, nurse and patient.Ability to answer phone calls, triage and prioritize patient flow.Ability to document accurate phone messages and notification to appropriate personnel.Communicate and document equipment issues.Utilize AIDET.

Patient transportsPerform two patient identification and exam verification.Effective utilize patient transport system.Provide appropriate mode of transport for patients physical limitations and imagining procedure requirements.Obtain proper handoff including any required documentation from patients RN just prior to leaving the department.Perform proper handoff to technologist and nursing staff when patient arrives in the Imagining department or back to.Observe and maintain a safe environment for patients medical devices IVs, catheters, drainage and chest tubes, monitors and oxygen.Provide safe and timely transportation to and from Imagining department.Maintain privacy, dignity, respect and comfort to patient during transportation.Communicate patient status, isolation and safety precautions with Imaging and nursing staff.

Assist imaging proceduresAssist with patient mobilization before, during and after procedure.Observe patients during procedures to maintain a safe environment, documenting and/or communicate changes in patients condition to appropriate nursing and/or Imaging staff.Transfer specimens with proper identification and safety precaution to correct location.

PACS and EMR utilization and BillingAbility to schedule all Imaging Procedure in EMR.Ability to communicate appropriate preparation information to patients.Accurately completes exams in EMR.Able to scan required documents into PACS, as needed.Understanding of PACS down-time procedures.Submit images and requests to after-hours service provider when applicable.Accurately enters billing information for supplies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prefer knowledge of body mechanics for safe transfer of patient and self.
