GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Resolve cargo transportation needs by coordinating directly with customers, foreign offices, government agencies and other departments. Prepare, review, approve and maintain files required for the lawful completion of both import/export activities. Coordinate shipments with the warehouse and ensure cargo is traced, cleared and released at the port facilities. Receive, reconcile, generate, consolidate and/or summarize documents and information. Ensure invoices are accurate and in accordance with the physical shipment and customer regulatory requirements. May be required to interpret, review and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading timely and accurately while staying compliant with the rules and regulations and completing the collections of invoices prior to cargo release. EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent, with course work after high school and/or job-related training preferred. EXPERIENCE:Minimum 1 year, general administrative, transportation/logistics experience with knowledge of ocean/air documents, customs forms and regulations highly preferred. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPENTENCIES:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to demonstrate effective customer experience skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with or as part of a team. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity. Knowledge of applicable system applications. OTHER:Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required. JOB SCOPE:Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime hours as requested by a supervisor based on the business continuity. FLSA Status:The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
