Job Description
The Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the work site. Responsibilities include inspecting materials for quality and defects, identifying materials by part number or written description, and manually moving materials onto or from pallets and shelves. The role involves transporting materials from storage or work sites to designated areas, counting, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet. The Material Handler also cleans work areas, machines, and equipment, assembles crates to contain products when required, and attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Adherence to all safety rules and regulations is mandatory. The job requires the ability to stand for long periods and repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an unheated and/or un-air-conditioned warehouse. The employee may be exposed to cold, heat, damp, or humid conditions. The role involves working around moving machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and exposure to exhaust fumes and paper dust. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
