Receptionist

Nature and Scope: Greets and assists patients as they enter our facility
while providing excellent customer service. This position works in
tandem with the optical and clinical staff to ensure that each patient
receives superior quality care. All receptionists are representative of
the physicians and the practice. Educational Requirements, Licenses, and
Certification: Must have basic computer knowledge in Microsoft and Excel
software. Previous Experience: At least one year of experience in a
clerical/office setting. FRONT OFFICE DUTIES: – Provide the highest
quality of customer service to all of our patients. – Maintain patient
professionalism at all times. – Greet every patient as they enter the
office. – Check-in patients for appointments- give patients necessary
paperwork to complete prior to their appointments. – Obtain patient
history, demographics, insurance information and update in patients
file. – Schedule, re-schedule, and cancel appointments for patients
throughout the day. – Assist phone room with answering the telephone. –
Triage all patient phone calls and walk-ins to determine urgency of
appointment. – Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments. – Print fee
slip for clinical. – Collect any co-pays or outstanding fees from
medical or optical charges. – Obtain patient waivers. – Obtain insurance
authorizations/referrals and check eligibility for next days
appointments. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: – Perform basic clerical
functions. – Fax, copy and send out information. Job Type: Full-time
