Safety Officer

Position Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for regularly
conducting site inspections to assist project teams to identify and
mitigate hazards to ensure a safe work environment. The Safety Officer
will ensure project teams, including subcontractors, are executing site
work in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Responsibilities: Adhere to all Company Safety Policies and the Company
Code of Conduct. Support the compliance and enforcement of company
safety policies to ensure a safe workplace for all employees.
Proactively support site workers with safety concerns, questions,
situations, and research proper means and methods for proper safety
practices. Conduct and document detailed safety site audits and
regularly report findings. Review and make recommendations to resolve
safety hazards. Actively participate in the development and delivery of
safety related training. Respond to incidents and perform thorough
investigations to identify the root cause and identify preventative
actions. Regularly review site specific Safety Data Sheets for
compliance with the Hazardous Communication Program. Attend and
participate in project pre-planning meetings. Attend appropriate
training for career development and to keep current on safety
regulations. Perform other assigned duties to support the companys
safety related strategic initiatives. Requirements: Bachelors degree
in occupational safety/health or equivalent combination of training and
related experience required. 3-5 years experience to include two years
in construction industry, or other related industry. OSHA 10
Construction Certification. Knowledge of DOT and EPA regulations. Must
possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Drivers License.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply company, federal, and state
construction safety regulations. Excellent interpersonal communication
skills required. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the
organization and lead a team. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint,
and Outlook Must possess a positive can-do attitude.
