The Construction Manager plans and directs the activities of the regional Beneficial Use Facilities under the direction of Clean Earth, LLC senior management.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Responsible for the overall management of Clean Earth Northeastern Beneficial Use Facilities including approval, receipt, delivery and placement operations, maintenance, and proper utilization of staff and equipment.
Oversee operations and maintenance activities for all aspects of the project locations.
Work with individuals at various levels and roles inside and outside the organization, including hourly and salaried employees, managers and leadership, vendors, partners, regulatory agency staff, community members and local representatives.
Directly and indirectly manage a team of supervisors and hourly facility processing staff including laborers, scale operators, equipment operators, administrative staff, and technical support roles along with oversight of sub-contractors and suppliers.
Work in partnership with the safety team to actively ensure a safe and healthy work environment with a consistent focus on continuous improvement, safe work practices, and positive employee health and wellbeing.
Generate reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with plans & specifications and applicable Federal, State and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain positive relationships with all state and local regulatory agencies.
Responsible for facility compliance, transportation logistics, and overall profitability
Recommend new work practices, coordinate flow of data to and from management, control expenditures, and recommend equipment upgrades or replacement
Effectively communicate company programs and initiatives to all direct and indirect employees
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental/civil engineering, environmental science, or business management recommended.
8 years’ experience in facility operations, with at least 5 years in supervisory capacity
Experience in the operation of treatment, processing, recycling, and/or transfer facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to plan and supervise the work of others and motivate and lead teams
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills
Self-directed with the ability to work under pressure and manage several projects simultaneously
Creative thinker with ability to consider “out of the box” solutions
Strong analytical and presentation skills
