Day to Day Responsibilities:
• They will be assigned to a room.
• They could potentially be “in the hall” will help with turnovers and break coverage.
• If they’re in the room, they are assigned to the procedures in that day , will scrub in, turnover the room, scrub in again, and finish up the cases of the day.
• Average: less than 10 surgeries/day
• Other tasks performed while they are waiting for room to turnover: inventory, pulling stuff for the next case.
• They don’t have a central sterile 24 hours, they “do the dishes” , initial decontamination and put the instruments in the washer.
Requirements:
Certified Surgical Tech:
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Surgery Technician required. OR Proof of work as surgical tech during at least two of the three years immediately preceding Jan 1, 2017.
• One year of operating room experience preferred.
• Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire and maintain as current.
Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certified Surgery Technician required
• Three years of operating room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical First Assist required
• Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire
• Open to new grads.
Shift:
• The OR is open M-F, 7:00am-5:30pm – 4x10s,
• One day off during the week.
• On-call shifts (one weekend a month)
• and one nightshift/week (opportunity to pick up more).
• Total 5 on-call shifts/month
Flexibility, start days may vary, instead of coming in at 7am, they may come in at 8am. If cases are done early, they might get flex on call, until the on-call team starts.
Possibility to support C-sections.
Call team: 1 nurse and 1 scrub from 5pm-7am
Pay:
• Certified Surgical Tech: $29.65-$38.80/hr – HR compensates up to 10 years of experience.
• Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant: $32.60-$ 44.90/hr
• Sign On Bonus: $10,000- 4 payments, 2 year commitment
• Extra pay of $3/hr for on-call pay
