Requisition Summary
The PACCAR Technical Center (PTC) is looking for an Assistant Controller that will be located in our state of the art testing and research facility in Mt. Vernon, Washington. The Assistant Controller will oversee a team of seven and work with personnel throughout the PACCAR Controllers organization. This position reports directly to the Controller and provides on-site support for the General Manager and PTC leadership team.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and motivate a staff of seven, including two manager level direct reports.
Actively engage with Operations personnel to improve processes and actively support the management team as a business partner.
Prepare timely and supported financial forecasts and budgets, including managing the year-end budget review cycle.
Manage the internal control process.
Ensure accurate and timely payment of travel, MRO and program payables, timely internal billing for program activities, and accurate accounting including quarterly analysis prepared for Corporate Consolidations.
Review Department of Energy reporting and forecasting.
Manage the month-end closing cycle ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reporting.
Special projects as assigned and coverage for Controller as needed
Qualifications
8 years of relevant accounting experience required with increasing responsibility
Strong analytical and technical accounting skills with attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work as part of a team
Attention to detail with a Big picture” focus
Drive for continuous improvement
Strong PC skills including advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, Power Query etc.)
SAP experience desired
Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Education
BS/BA Accounting degree required
8 years of relevant accounting experience required with increasing responsibility
CPA or MBA preferred

Division Information
The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
