SUMMARY: The Receiving Inspector A is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of shipments, and maintaining inventory records. This level will also perform various quality audits and inspections, including for part transfer between sites and in the Wax department. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities: Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents match the purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect incoming shipments, verifying that the contents are in good order and opening boxes to inspect items for damage or defects. Record and report, noting discrepancies in the inventory system and reporting them to the appropriate parties. Sort, label, and store items in designated areas.
Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels. Assist in the sorting and archiving of Quality records, including x-ray film as needed.
Prepare and package outgoing shipments as needed, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Conduct internal audits and investigations as directed by the Quality Engineer or Quality Manager. Inspect parts being transported to the Franklin site; conduct rough inspection of castings and validate quantity and documentation prior to transportation. Ensure there are no visible defects and parts are crated appropriately for travel. Conduct Wax injection, repair, and gating inspections and enter inspection data in the computer system. Conduct workstation audits and corrective actions at Wax assembly inspection. Perform other duties, as assigned.
Must know and follow all departmental and company safety rules. Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility. Meet established attendance standards. Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred. Perform all physical functions of position: standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. Fork truck certification or the ability to obtain one on the job. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to de ail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements: The Receiving Clerk will work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to heat, dust, noise, and other hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
