Summary You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (ELECTRICIAN) in the ELECTRICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will compile work packages that accompany the Task Group Instructions {TGIs)/ Technical Work Documents (TWDs) through the duration of the task execution. You will perform a review of the current scheduled work using the Work Packaging and Control BAIM application software to determine the proper scope for an individual task package based on the probability of work beginning as scheduled. You will be responsible for contacting the proper code or shop regarding problems, including expediting informational and support to complete and meet key events. You will be responsible for maintaining contact with Zone Managers and first line Supervisors who will accomplish the work. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES: Reading and interpreting Task Group Instructions (TGIs), Technical Work Documents (TWO s ), Drawings, Work and Test Manual (WTM), Process Instructions (PIs), Technical Specifications, Technical Manuals, Material Management Manual (MMM), Corporate Nuclear Power Manuals, Work Packaging Standard Operating Procedures and other required shipyard standards. Assisting first line supervisors, zone managers, schedulers, design and engineering personnel in answering questions, resolving work problems, and giving assistance on trade related requirements. Initiating of Deficiency Logs (DLs) and/or Deficiency Reports (DRs) for outside purchases and/or problems. Procuring materials/equipment from the Supply Department or Shop Stores, processing related software, and routing to requesting location. Possessing a journeymans knowledge of production work in relation to submarine repair, maintenance, modification, testing, or inactivation.
